The Atlas 80 Volt Electric Push mower was engineered with an 80-minute average runtime with two batteries installed. However, this is a tool-only package, so the batteries and the charger are not included.
Like most brushless electric motors the one inside the Atlas 80 Volt push mower is runs very quietly. This can come in handy if you have a suburban lawn and you don’t want to disturb the neighbors every time you cut the grass.
The 3-in-1 versatility to cut the lawn as a mulcher, bagger or side s manage grass clippings and avoid long-term problems with thatch buildup in your turf.
This battery-powered lawn mower also has a special “Auto Load Sensing” feature. It monitors how the blades are doing. Should you happen to hit a patch of extra-thick grass, it spools up the cutting blades to optimize the harvest rate. Then when moving back into thinner density grass it throttles back to make the most out of the available charge in the battery bank.
The 10-inch flat-free rear wheels will travel over most suburban lawns with ease. It also does a great job of handling changes in terrain or you need to push it up a small hill.
Ease Of Use
The Atlas 80 Volt Electric Push mower was engineered to be easy to use. The brushless electric motor activates with just the press of a button. It’s also very easy to change from bagging to mulching or side-discharging.
You can quickly adjust the 21-inch cutting deck through seven different settings. Each of the four wheels is linked to a single easy-to-operate lever. This lets you change the cutting deck to match the current lawn conditions without having to stop and adjust every single wheel.
The height of the handles can be adjusted through three different settings. This makes it easy to maneuver the Atlas 80 Volt. Especially if you need to turn it around trees and tight landscaping features.
After the lawn has been neatly trimmed you can easily fold the handles down for compact storage. Since it’s a cordless electric lawnmower you can store it standing up against a wall or even on a heavy-duty garage shelf. Though it does weigh a little over 58-pounds, which means it’s meant for lower shelves and standing against walls rather than hanging up.
One of the features that stands out the most with the Atlas 80 Volt Electric push mower is the Automatic Load Sensing system. As you cut the grass it helps optimize the mower’s performance for the conditions, but it also adjusts to provide more power to the cordless electric motor when you go through thicker grass. It is especially handy if your lawn has a mixture of different grass types, or some areas grow faster than others.
The 3-in-1 functionality lets you decide whether you want to bag, mulch, or side-discharge the grass clippings.
The brushless electric motor also means that the Atlas 80 Volt Electric push mower runs quietly. This can be a high priority if you have a suburban lawn and don’t want to disturb the neighbors. The brushless engineering means that it also produces much less heat during operation. This expands the motor’s lifespan beyond what a typical electric motor can provide.
Cut Quality & Options
The Atlas 80 Volt lets you adjust the height of the 21-inch diameter cutting deck through 7 distinct settings. This means you can leave your lawn a little longer during a prolonged dry spell. If the weather turns sunny and rainy you can set it up to cut the grass short to let you keep up with the vigorous growth.
Though this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the custom cutting offered by the Atlas 80 Volt Electric push mower. Its 3-in-1 versatility to better manage the harvested grass clippings. You can leave it set up as a side discharging lawn mower if you have the time to cut frequently, or your lawn is barely growing during an extended dry spell.
If you like to side-dress your garden plants with grass clippings, or you keep a compost pile, you can set the Atlas up as a bagging mower. You could also set it up as a mulching mower for times when you want to feed nitrogen back into the upper layers of your turf. The tiny harvested grass clippings will decompose quickly rather than dry into turf-choking thatch.
The Atlas 80 Volt is easy to maintain. The electric engine doesn’t require any oil changes or spark plug replacement. The flat-free 10-inch diameter tires are solid-state and truly “Flat Free.”
Though you will need to occasionally replace or sharpen the cutting blades.
The Atlas 80 Volt has the standard safety hand controls that you find on most electric push mowers. Being able to quickly adjust the handle height also gives you better manual control for times when you need to deftly turn the mower to avoid accidentally running over a rock or a stick hiding in the long grass.
It’s important to note that this version of the Atlas 80 Volt electric push mower does not come with a pair of lithium-ion batteries that power the brushless electric motor. If you already have the compatible batteries and the charger this is a great money saver. If you don’t have the batteries and charger it is an extra cost to add to the initial purchase price.
Beyond that, the ability to customize the cutting height of the Atlas 80 Volt and being able to select mulching, bagging, or side discharge will certainly help prevent thatch build-up. This can reduce or completely eliminate the time and cost of seasonal aeration.
