Got a small, courtyard-style lawn? The 12-amp Goplus might be for you. It’s an electric push mower with a cord that is very compact and a foldable handle for convenient storage. This green machine cuts a path of 13-inches, comes with a bag, and is easy to operate. It’s a meager 15 pounds, so practically everyone can mow with it and have the job done in no time.
Since it’s an electric, Goplus is arguably a bit easier on the environment than your typical gas-powered machine, which requires much more maintenance and puts out those smelly fumes. If nothing else, you’ll be breathing in cleaner air as you mow with Goplus.

Performance
A 13-inch cutting deck is an ideal size for a mower built for small yards. You’ll zip right through your courtyard with Goplus and be able to come up close to hedges, gardens, and flowerbeds thanks to a compact design and excellent maneuverability. I’m not overly impressed with the size of the wheels, but then again, they don’t seem to hold back maneuverability and performance on a small yard. It’s doubtful a mower like this one would excel on uneven terrain or slopes. However, anyone who’s owned an electric will tell you that they’re lightweight, and it’s easy to mow with them going both backward and forward. The Goplus is certainly no exception.
This mower may struggle at times with tall grass, but if you tip it back, which is easy to do because it’s so lightweight, you can roll it backward and then make another pass over tall-grass areas. If your entire yard has tall grass, this mower may require more passes and take more time.
Ease of Use
A brushless induction machine that is practically camouflaged in grass due to its green color, the Goplus is a cinch to push and has a foldable handle that allows for convenient storage. No matter your age or size, it’s likely most people could push a 15-pound machine that’s designed to mow smaller-sized yards. Start it up by pushing a button and away you go. I like how the extreme lightweight of this mower allows you to tilt it easily upward when needed, such as when you may hit an obstacle or accidentally mow over the cord (try to avoid that!). If you find that the extension cord you have isn’t long enough, don’t worry–you can always purchase an extension cord. Once you plug in the cord and get going, make sure your mowing pattern is away from the cord and outlet rather than toward it.
Cut Quality & Options
Goplus has three height adjustments of 10.5 inches, 16.5 inches, and 22 inches for folks of varied heights. You’ll appreciate the ergonomically curved handle that won’t stress your hands and arms.
What can be a tad stressful is using a corded mower, at least until you get used to it. You’ll need grounded outlets, a long extension cord that can reach the back areas of your yard. If the cord is heavy, sometimes it helps to put it on top of your mower to transport it from one area to another. Keep the cord in good shape and untie whatever knots may be in there. You’ll also want to tie the cord around the middle of the handle a few times to make sure it’s secure. Simply plugging it in without tying it around the handle will most certainly cause the cord to become unplugged. Once you get to mowing, the trick, of course, is to not mow over the cord. This will involve holding the cord on the side of the mower that is closest to the outlet. So basically you’ll flip it from side to side with each pass. The good news is that this is such a lightweight mower that if you do happen to suddenly roll over the cord, you can lift it with ease and maneuver it forward or backward, away from the cord, as needed.
The big collection grass box can store up to 30 litres of clippings, so chances are you won’t have to empty it often if you’re taking care of a small yard. It’s a hard-top catcher that is easy to detach. Once you’ve got it off, the disposal of grass is a breeze.
Maintenance
Obviously an electric mower does not need to be maintained in the same fashion as a gas-powered one, but there is maintenance to oversee each season. Always make sure all the parts of the mower are tight. Over time, the vibration of the mower can loosen nuts and bolts.
There are different schools of thought as to whether folks should use an electric on wet grass. Although it’s doable on an electric mower, your best bet is to not do it because you’ll end up with tons of wet grass sticking to your lawn mower, especially on the underside of it.
Speaking of the bottom of the mower, make sure to clean it of grass and debris as often as possible for the best mowing results. While you’re at it, be sure to sharpen the blade at least once a season. See the owner’s manual for all maintenance needs.
Safety Features
Though it has easy push-button starting, Goplus also has a safety-start switch that must be engaged before mowing.
Special Features
When contemplating the benefits of the Goplus push mower, it’s hard not to be impressed by the large collection box that holds 30 litres of clippints and detaches easily. That means you can mow a small yard in no time, hopefully without having to change the bag, and have it come out looking clean and pristine with nary a clipping to be seen. Goplus is also quiet, very maneuverable, lightweight, convenient to store, and has a perfectly sized cutting deck for what it’s built to do.
Cost Effectiveness
Using an electric mower saves money on gas, oil, parts that must be replaced, and doesn’t produce smelly fumes. You may also find that pushing a 15-pound mower saves you from feeling drained and spent after the job is done. If you can maintain and go easy on a mower like this one, which does contain its share of breakable plastic parts, you may just be able to get many mowing seasons out of it. After the investment of a cord, and possibly an additional extension cord, you really shouldn’t have that many more maintenance costs, provided you take good care of the mower.
