Tacklife KALM1340A 16″ 11 Amp Corded Electric Lawn Mower Review
In the past, corded electric lawnmowers had a reputation for being awkward and if you weren’t extremely careful, chances were good that you were eventually going to run over your own extension cord. Tacklife tackles these problems confidently with its TACKLIFE KALM1340A 16-inch Electric Lawn Mower.
The ergonomically designed handle with its comfort grips has a special cord hold with a cord clip. It’s also engineered with a strain relief mechanism. This helps keep the extension cord up and out of the way of the heavy-duty cutting blade, without it tangling with you as you walk. The handles can also be adjusted to three different height settings which are nice for families where people might be significantly different in height. The handlebars also fold down easily for compact storage.
This corded electric lawnmower has an 11-Amp electric motor that powers a heavy-duty steel cutting blade. There are six adjustable height settings to choose from between .98 of an inch up to 2.95-inches. This lets you cut the grass for the current conditions to either keep ahead of it, or to leave it trimmed, yet long enough to preserve soil moisture.
It also has 10-inch rear wheels which makes it easy to push and nimble for those times when you need to dance around a tree or landscaping feature. There’s also a 16-gallon grass collector bagger at the rear. It’s hard-sided which means it doesn’t drag when full, and there’s no risk of it ripping on you at the worst possible time. It also has an indicator that lets you see at a glance just how full the grass collector is.
It’s also worth noting that Tacklife is dedicated to customer service. Any questions about this no-assembly required electric corded lawnmower can be sent to an e-mail address that will respond promptly with any other technical information you might need.

The 11-amp electric motor propels the heavy-duty steel blade with ease. Tacklife did its best to engineer the central cutting system of the KALM1340A to not leave stray uncut blades of grass behind. The 10-inch rear wheel also helps you to push it along easily and gives it a little more nimbleness for working around trees and landscaping.
Ease of Use
Electric lawnmowers are always going to be easier to use than their gas-powered brothers. The argument you hear with corded mowers is that the cord tends to get tangled, gets in your way or you end up accidentally cutting through it. The special cord holder, tension release, and cord clip engineered into the handlebars of the TACKLIFE KALM1340A really do a good job of keeping the extension cord up and out of the way.
The 10-inch wheels also make it easy to move. They’re especially nice if you have to move your mower across uneven or overly soft turf.
It’s also worth mentioning that the padded controls are very comfortable. The ability to adjust the height of the handlebars is also very nice. It will definitely reduce the annoying backache that happens when you have to lean down or reach up too far to push the mower handles.
Cut Quality & Options
The ability to adjust the height of the mower deck from .98 of an inch up to 2.95-inches is an impressive span and not one that you see in many of the closest competitors. It lets you precisely dial in the length you want to leave the grass for the prevailing weather conditions.
The 11-amp electric motor propels the heavy-duty steel blade admirably. Still, if you walk a little too fast, you could end up leaving some uncut blades of grass behind. So, find the right casual pace and just don’t rush it.
The indicator on the grass collector is a nice touch and lets you know when you need to empty out the clippings.
There isn’t a lot of maintenance involved with the TACKLIFE KALM1340A. You need to use the cord holder and clip correctly. Then when you are done, you simply collapse down the height adjustment handles and fold the handlebars over the cutting deck.
While you’re at it, take a quick look in the grass collector to make sure there aren’t any straw grass clippings or yard waste that could mold in the lower rear corners.
If you are a bit of a do-it-yourselfer, the heavy-duty cutting blade is robust enough that you can sharpen it yourself with a mill file or angle grinder. This is somewhat rare in an electric lawnmower, where most have delicate metal or even plastic blades that you have to order replacements for.
The TACKLIFE KALM1340A has all the standard safety hand controls that you expect to find in a quality push mower. It also has a cord holder and cord clip system to keep the extension cord up and out of the way.
The ability to adjust the handlebars to three different height settings is certainly a special feature. Then you can fold them down when you are done mowing for easy storage. There’s even a heavy-duty carrying handle. The mower weighs 28-pounds, which is probably a little too heavy to hang on a wall, but with the carrying handle and compact storage, you could feasibly pick it up to store it on a garage shelf.
The cord holder, cord clip, and tension release system is also very well thought out. It really does a great job of keeping the extension cord up and out of the way.
As a corded electric lawnmower, the TACKLIFE KALM1340A was always going to be cost-effective. You also have to like the fact that you can potentially sharpen the heavy-duty steel cutting blade yourself, rather than having to buy a new replacement blade every spring.
